The Barbera d’Alba D.O.C. Àlia is the result of a terroir with unique characteristics and a well-defined winemaking philosophy.
The Guyot-trained vines enjoy a south-facing aspect and are rooted in Lequio soil, formed 12 million years ago. The soil composition features a good proportion of limestone and abundant layers of sand. The iron-rich components that give the soil its reddish hue influence the wine’s savoury character.
The result is a robust yet refined and elegant wine, enhanced by nine months’ ageing in Slavonian oak barrels.
Barbera d’Alba Àlia is a contemporary Barbera, in which the variety’s characteristic acidity is skilfully balanced to produce a generous, harmonious and refined red wine.
The label depicts Alba Cathedral, the city’s iconic monument. The acrobat symbolises the wine’s contemporary nature: whilst rooted in tradition, it is nonetheless suited to modern tastes.
